What is lucid dreaming? Just a few months ago, most people wouldn’t have known the meaning of this phrase. But with the success at the Sundance Festival of the film The Good Night and its subsequent theatrical release, more and more people are aware of lucid dreaming and are becoming interested in learning how to dream lucidly.
In The Good Night, the character Gary (played by Martin Freeman) meets his dream girl, literally, in a dream. He is so smitten with the girl, Anna (played by Penelope Cruz), that he embarks on a quest to find out how to be aware of his dreams and control them. That is lucid dreaming. Gary finds a new viewpoint on his life as he learns the lucid dreaming techniques.
So is lucid dreaming real? Or was it invented for the movie, The Good Night? Lucid dreaming is very real. It’s not a Hollywood fiction. Thousands of people around the world have practiced it for thousands of years. You can learn to be a lucid dreamer too.
